Partners! Turn on OR Turn off!

Okay well this is a debate that I have time and time again with many people, those in world and also those in RL (Real Life).

For many of us we stumble through our SL days and have a laugh and some fun along the way, but there will be that time that you meet that person that you like to spend time with and like having around.. I am no different, my partner Rosanne is always great to be around and we always get to laugh about something :)

The great debates is this.. Do people seem flirt more with you when you have a partner listed in your profile? Now I was always thinking that having a partner in your profile would scare away all those people that you wanted to keep at bay! Well to tell you of my experiences and these are only mine... I have found that having a partner has depended on the AV.. Does that sound odd? Yes it might I guess!

Let me explain, I have a old AV that was a host at Sweethearts Jazz and while there I was hit on all the time... As soon as I was partnered the whole flirting went through the roof and man it was like feeding time at the zoo... I was glad to leave at that club when the time come.. :) Now in my current AV and being a DJ I was flirted with for ages and then when I partnered with Rosanne it went totally the the other way! It was like I dropped off the face of SL with one change...

So is it in someways a visual thing? They see you partner and then think your no longer available! For them it becomes the thrill of the chase and a test to see if you can tempt you away from your partner... For me I am not sure what there intentions are! In someways with some people yes that is totally it, its a test, their aim is to distract and tempt you away.. for others it appears they were just to scared to say they liked you at that point when you were single for want of a better word..

I guess I am just curious as to what others might have experienced and your own stories.. So feel free to add your comments :)

Well its been a busy week :)

Well the week has had its ups and downs.. The biggest fustration was finding out that my ISP was updating its servers and the upload and down load speeds have been affected as a result.. I know know why my stream has been cutting out so much... Well we only have to wait to May 2011 for it to be fixed... Ohhhh Joy!!

Other than that its been a mixed bag of gigs at my regular clubs with some being busy and some not.. The most exciting thing is that I am to be the DJ at McCoy's next week and theres going to be an event going on by XTC, theres going to be some free outfits being given away so dont forget to stop by.. (Tuesday 1st March @ 12.00pm SLT) :)

Last night both myself and Rosanne was at a photo shoot last night , these pictures were long over due as we had only a load of old ones from ages ago, plus and I was sneeky enough to get some new DJ pictures done :) I sure look forward to seeing them early next week when I get them back... I'll pop a few on here so you all can have a look at them.. Nickos is a great Photographer and I love his work :)

This stream or that!

One of the biggest things I have struggled with over the time of being a Dj is which stream should I use and is one better than another!

Until recently I had been using a complay called Pulsestreams, who after an initial bit of a patchy start had a strong and reliable stream... I was using a server in the EU, they did have many others in the US at various locations.. I guess my question is, should you be choosing a hosting server thats close to your geographical location or doesnt it really matter?

Now my thoughts behind this are as follows, if your stream in to a closer server they are then boosting that transmition and then broardcasting it at a better bandwidth... I might be way off the mark with this but with anyluck some one might be able to steer me in the right direction... At present I am using a US hosting server and it seems to work really well, however I have only been using them a week or so but they have been good and the customer service has been very good :)

Anyone looking for a reasonable stream might look at people like nEo streams or Lusch Streams.. both seem good and stable and fairly priced as well .. All have there own stores in world :)

Goodnights Birthday!!

Well last Saturday was the day we set to celibrate my RL wifes birthday -- To make her SL day a little more fin and knowing she is a great fan of Def Leppard in RL, I arranged a gig by the SL Def Leppard group.. With the help of a few others the party really came together... but a big thank you to Nimue for allowing us to use your Sim :) Hugs!



Now all of this was arranged several weeks ago, and the planning wasnt all plain sailing as with anything thing on SL there are mad moments lol.. Well the day of the party was spent on SL marketplace buying stuff for the party and to be honest everything turned up on time... Except one set of balloons that turned up half way through the event... Ohh well thats SL I guess :)

Well the event kicked off at 1.00pm and Sven managed to keep Goodnight at bay until the start of the gig.. And what and awesome show they put on, they really did us proud and really made Goodnights birthday one to remember.. So if you get time go and see SL Def Leppard the are amazing :)

Ups and Downs!

Well I was at McCoys for another gig and I was hoping to have another night like last week! Last week was totally brilliant the place was buzzing and the partons were coming in and TP'ing their friends in... Life was all good !!

As you see not many guys turned up... I bet they wish they had ;)

This week was total reversal of the last week! It was almost dead and we had very few people even come in... The ones that did at least stayed which was somthing.. And McCoys is a great club and has some of the best shopping around... So make sure you have a look when you come over to see and hear me play :)

Outgoing or outrageous!

One of the things that at times cross's my mind and I am sure must of others have come across this issue if you have a partner on SL! Okay if you work in SL that involves being involved publicly with other people, for example and Host(ess) a DJ or something along that vain... Is it wrong to be a little tongue in cheek, suggestive or even maybe a little flirty with other people that are around while your working?

For me I guess it comes down the people involved and the personalities of those individuals, I know from past experience that crossing a line that's not been talked about with a partner can lead to disaster.. I know that other people will have their own opinions on this and I would imagine that will have a whole heap of difference answers.. After talking to some people I have talked to they say its fine as long as you don't go to far... Others say its just a pure “No it shouldn't ever be done!”

I guess that I am just curious as to others ideas and thoughts and see if there is a general consensus on if it a “Okay” or “Not okay!” Thing to do..

All work and no play!

What both I and Rosanne have found with me working as a DJ so much it leaves little time to do other things, I am sure thats a problem that most people find that work on SL, and have someone that they want to spend time with... Eveything is such a huge juggling act... Who said SL was easy :)

Well Thursday nights are kind of our night and one where we do what we want to, and OMG we had so much fun last week... Well we thought that it might be fun to go and do something different! SO that we did, I was TP'd off to a snow resort were we quickly jumped on a snow bob and off we set me that the controls.... Okay that was mistake 1! With Rosanne clinging on for dear life and my driving not being up to my normal F1 Racing level of we sped!! Okay it wasnt long before I was having a bit of a control issue... I blame it on the traction control system not being the best... OR it could have been I was a bad driver!!! But I am sure it was the first option ;)

Yep you guessed! While trying to perform a perfect 360 on the bob i managed to slip off the road and down a bank and into the lake..... Man was it chilly in there!!! Now! I drove around looking for a way out but it was only a matter of time before Rosanne said she couldnt hold her breath under water any longer and we had to make a swim for it... Well after that near death experience we opted for a more sedate option of a horse drawn sledge.. this time with a bit more care being taken and a much slower speed I managed not to kill either of us for the second time!!

With all this excitement we opted to go for a balloon ride and what better place than at the Da Vinci Gardens! Once there we flew around taking in the scenes and awesome sights, but once our sedate balloon finished, without incident I must add and expertly flown by me :) Rosanne and I spent some time looking around some of the many little places to hang out and relax... I highly recommend visiting there if you havent already... :)

Rosanne sure knows how to party! What can I say !!

I never thought I would see the day when I see Rosanne up on a table dancing! I guess that I was wrong and here is the proof as she is up on the table strutting her stuff ... I wonder if I should invest in a pole for at home?? I can feel the weight of Rosannes hand as it smacks me around the back of the head .. *Grins*

And now to top it all it looks like Rosanne has been out with my credit card again!!! Not that I mind when she comes home looking like this.... and that was just one of the many great outfits bought over the last month or two...

Well all I can say is that Rosanne has some great tastes in cloth's and partners .. Well I hope she does lol

Muddy's Cafe!! Woohoooo!!

Well while waiting for Rosanne to get online I thought I would head on over to Muddy's Cafe, and spend some time there as the music is always really good and the place has a great and friendly feel to it and local chat is always very vibrant... always a good thing in my mind.. Well I wasn't waiting long before Rosanne logged in, and was requesting a TP for a dance...

As Muddy's has reached a Awesome total of 3000 VIP Members in a year, and that s totally amazing thing, given that SL is such a strange place at time... Well as you can see from the decorations in the picture its is being made very special and if you get time you should drop by and chill out for a while... and if your lucky and there's a free shift you might even get to see me DJ'ing there... I love Muddy's I wish I could be there a little more :)

Ducking and Groving at the UG!!

Monday nights bring me to the Underground Garage (UG), and back to a club I have been playing at for a while now. I must say the UG as always been a bit of a up and down club for me, with one day being packed and full of people and then other days you hardly see anyone. But that seems to be the way SL is right now as other DJ's and hosts have commented alike..

Anyway, last night was a bit of a odd night as it started off quiet and we had a slow addition in people coming in. That included few random people that wasn't afraid to bring there sexual preference to the for front in local... Thankfully the whole topic as more funny than offensive and with SL you can never be sure how much your being played … But the whole evening was a laugh anyway! Rosanne was with me and we spent another night bar dancing... :)

Saturday Night Mayhem!!

Saturday was my return back to the Mayfair sim and the first time I was back at Mayhem since it had been taken over by a new manager.... I must say it was a awesome night, the place was a little slow to get going but by the end it was nice and busy.. With Rosanne as my host we seemed to bond as a good team and really had a few laughs with everyone...

Well the manager was on site as it would appear that I had been given a bit of a hyping by the former manager, now sim manager... It would appear that I didnt disapoint and she was more than happy... Not only that Rosanne was a big success with her as well and thats a great thing as I feel Rosanne and I are a great team, and I think we can really make a difference to how people enjoy there stay with us.... We shall soon see :)
