6th Attempt !

I've been trying to write a post now for a few days and every time I do I abort and start again. Well today this is it, however this comes out is how its going to be posted. I've had a weird week in SL and a few things have really rattled me. As I've said I've tried to write down all of what has happened and how its made me feel but I've failed at every attempt but today, lets say that it was the straw that broke the camels back and I am now seriously not a happy bunny.

It seems that people have got a bee in their bonnet about who dances with who and why, and where. Followed by mindless idle gossip, mixed with a few well placed words and "hey presto!!" it seems like the whole of SL is out to get just one person.

You know what, I'm fed up with all of it, and if I'm being exceptionally blunt here, so what. When two people break up on SL, thats it… its the way it is…. get over it. Because of one persons actions its having an impact on a lot of people and very unnecessarily so. Wether this has been done maliciously or not, the effects of "careless talk" are now having a ripple effect and having an impact on people that definitely do not deserve such treatment.

Gossip is careless in any form and in any forum, and I actually haven't ever encountered it in a big way on SL apart from what I hear from other people. I find it difficult to believe that people are really that bothered with what might or might not be happening with one or two people on here when it is, essentially an escape from reality and real life.

Things move on so quickly on SL I just can't believe that anything that happens today will be news tomorrow and/or be interesting to others. So why does it seem that there are just a few people that just want to keep bringing up old news and making things difficult. Its also really important to remember that however reasonable someone seems to be, they will only ever tell you their side of the story and there is never only one side – of course this is true in RL too. But people very easily and sometimes unreasonably forget this. Lets face it, its much easier to listen to a friend and believe everything they tell you and not see that there could be another explanation for whatever has happened.

It frustrates and angers me that people see fit to take on other people's problems and attempt to sort them out when in fact all they're doing is making everyone's life horrible in the process. I guess what I'm trying to say is, think sometimes before you act on something that may or may not be 100% true or at very least will be unfortunately manipulated by the person telling the story to make themselves look better.

Sadly most of this is all just human nature and me ranting about it here will do nothing to stop it from happening, but I must admit, just writing this down has given me a sense of satisfaction for five or so minutes.

So, I'm sorry that this is a rant and I hate having rants on blogs, but I just had to get this off my chest.

Think back! and Take your time!

I have thought a lot about things and recent events have made me look at things and ask myself  "why?" by that I mean why do people think it's right to do what they do on SL, who gives people the right to judge others.


What's gives people the belief that they are judge and/or jury on matters that really have little no impact on them, and be the people that sit and sneer at others, while thinking that there whiter than white. Giving off that holier than thou attitude when truth be known there guilty as the next person, but I am sure many out there have been in a IM, flirting with someone while they have been partnered or in a relationship. 

I would say that it would be quicker and easier to count the minority that haven't flirted in IM,  or count the ones that think they have never done it! I am sure there is a fair amount of selective memory that occurs when people think back, or the famous line "that doesn't count" when they think back on there time in world.

So when your siting there smugly gleaning over what ever information or gossip you have been fed from the SL grape vine, just consider if what your being told is it really impacting you, and does it really affect your SL experience?... You will find much of the stuff your hear is total rubbish and not worth the time to type it out, and remember its easy to persecute a innocent person, but much harder to say sorry or retract a statement when your information was wrong or tainted to begin with...   

Fire and Ice!

Its been a very, very strange week or rather a strange few weeks...  Now to be honest there's stuff I would more and likely want to say and get off my chest,  but sadly due to a few people on SL who will remain nameless.. Mainly as I can't be bothered with the abusive IM's that were based on total and utter rubbish and only said it was a face saving exercise...  I have been led to believe, based on nameless third parties who have commented when the stories were told or brandished with out foundation.. 

The next story will be read will be J. R. Tokkens " Hobbit" :)

So to finish this side of things and put it to bed once and for all, I want to congratulate the educational process in those respective country's the choice and range of vocabulary and expletives were well rounded and I found to be be used in the right context in many cases... Who's says the education service doesn't work around the world. :)

Okay now that over with its time to move on and get on with SL and its fun times :)

Well now its time to get back to being a DJ and getting the clubs partying, I must say that I am looking forward to getting into a few new clubs and there is big possibility that I maybe back in Mayfair again, I might have a return to Mayhem or another venture that maybe looming.. It should be good times and I know that Manager there (Jessii) she has her eye's very focused on the end game and getting results.. With that in mind I cant wait to see what develops... And as a member of staff with Mayfair I get to attend the awards on Sunday, it should be an eye opener all round I believe :) 

But rest assured I will be bringing you a full update on events and happenings, well the ones that are allowed to be printed :)

Fun times :)

Well last night was a night that I spent going around a few clubs and checking out the tunes, I went to a new club I shall be playing at Stumbles. It was really good, I spent most of my night there dancing and have a bit of a laugh in local, I talked to the manager there and found that she has many of the fustrations that I had when I was a while back a owner and manager of a venue..  But hats off to her she has made a really go of it, and openly admitted that the desision for Muddys to say open has hit her hard as a lot of the staff had ellected to go back to Muddy's as did I.. However I have agreed to play there as I liked the people and the atmosphere .. plus like Muddys thay have some great shops, the good thing is that there different to the ones at Muddys so I get to shop even more... I did see a lovely leather jacket the other day...;)

After that I had a chat with a few friends and if all goes well will be attending a awards do on Sunday... I am sure that will be something different and should get a few laughs going :)  Anyway I will be posting about that after the event and any funnies that happen as well :)

It's Alive! It breath's again!!!

What can I say the past week and a bit has had its ups and downs and they haven't stopped. I was greeted with a offline and a email from Naigo letting me know that Muddy's is staying.. Okay on another sim but its breaths life once more :)

I think for me the frustration was that I had just managed to sort out new roles in different clubs only to find that Muddys was going to rise from the ash's, if  I had been told the day before I might not  have looked for other work... But the new club looks interesting and there for I am going to give it a try ...  The best thing is Naigo will be coming with me and we have formed a very close bond and a totally awesome team :)

Well dont forget to come and see us and I am sure that with Muddy's staying open and some new staff starting were in for some great times..

The sound of Silence!

I find myself writing this and still feeling a little sad and in someways lost!  Through a very kind note card from the owners at Muddy's we were informed that they are to close.. Its due to a number of things and one being that the sim owner is going to close that sim.

Muddy's was always and will remain iconic to me, it was one of the first places I went and found it full of friendly people and staff... The music was always great!  It felt like home and I am sure many others of you have or feel the same.

Muddy's will never be replaced under that name as it was built from the heart of Beth and William, I will long remember you both for being not only owners but more like friends.. And should the day you decide on another adventure I would be proud and honoured to play a part in that...

So everyone please take the time to fill Muddy's with Joy, fun and laughter right up until the doors sadly close..

Viewers!

What I have recently learned is that LL are shortly due to withdraw support for V1 style viewers, now after the demise of Emerald, which was a hugely popular viewer. It would appear that all in a short while (not sure exactly when) we will need to change viewers, now I know LL have a viewer already running, obviously! But currently I am only aware that of Snowglobe 2.0 being able to continue to be used, plus Phoenix have a beta viewer in development which is Firestorm.

I do think we are soon to be limited to less than a hand full of viewers that can be used and accepted by LL, I guess the ones that have the time, money and team to be able to stay in touch with LL development teams advances.

Come on Phoenix get Firestorm out as a release not a beta :)

Stock take!

SL is a funny place and one that makes me think, now I am writing this while I feel like crap with a cold in RL and in bed, yeah not a pleasant thought lol.

Now I guess I'm feeling a little down and dejected, I look at SL and all it's wonders, the fun the friends and the wide variety of stuff you can see do or even hear.

Now I have been online a while now and had the ups and downs, but something I am starting to think that alot of my problems on SL are of my own doing!

I look at myself some say I judge myself harshly, but look at as being objectively, I have been a DJ for a while now and always considered myself to be able to hold my own, but I think my nature and my ability to screw things up are now coming to light, things I consider fun or funny others I guess might not.

The question I ask is can I change? Can a tiger switch from strips to spots? Has my actions already undermined me as a DJ?

Yes I can be random!!

Well not that it should be a surprise to anyone but like most people I can be a little random with things.. Well just look at my posts.. Sometimes I think I'm destined to write for a paper... had some thoughts on that but the Beano said there not taking people right now..  Dam!


Well last night was no different than any other, apart from I was on the hunt for new places to visit, as I am from the UK and not to far from Brighton I thought I would head there and have a look around... I had been to the club there once before.. But crashed a few times and at that point lost the will to live... I gave up and went to RL .. Which is never a good thing at times lol... Anyway there is loads to do.. I found a whole host of games on the pier,  be warned some you have to pay for!  Being a tight arse I gave these a wide birth lol 

If you head away from the Pier and the abundant sun chairs there is a shopping area and a set of jet ski's, there is a predefined course for you to go around and some jumps....  I managed to crawl my way around until I found out that the thing had gears, and then it was a case of tell me what I didn't crash into lol.

But the night was amazing and the future is looking bright, with a loads of time to have fun and explore and time to meet new people and enjoy SL... 

Why?

Recently I have been looking at SL with different eyes, I have seen SL bring joy and pain, in a way that sometimes amazes me!  I have seen the sadness of people leaving SL as a result of separation from a BF/GF or partner, I have also seen the depth people will go to control others and there SL. I have even seen owners of venue almost throw staff out of employment if they have even considered working anywhere else, I mean how odd is that, to think that working for anyone else is deemed not acceptable...  Crazy thats my opinion :)

My concern is for the people that find themself caught, caught in something they didn't see happening or coming.. The ones that get promised the world and then find it brokern and shattered, I think we can all think of someone thats been touched by this. Either they were the ones being hurt or dare I say it the ones causing it.. Some don't see what there doing as anything other than the right thing, or even consider that their actions might impact on others in a negative way.

I am sure that there will be somone pointing the finger of guilt at me, but in my time in SL I have had my fair amount of drama, but throughout all of that the one thing I have always been is honest and when the cards were down I told the truth even if it was possibly to my own detriment. But its the other gentle people that are hurt the worst, it is these people that my heart goes out to and hope they are strong enough to clear the table and start the puzzle again. 

I just wish people would consider their actions on those around before they enter into something, or take time to be sure that things are right.. The world is full of pain and we should not add to it in a virtual world that impacts peoples RL...

One day everyone meets there match or perfect mirror.. I hope we all together can make SL a better place.

Times a rocking!

Muddy's turned out to be heaving last night, the only hick up of the night was that DJ Bob Wassup was AFK and had to be booted so I could take over and start my shift... I did get a IM a few hours later telling me he had fallen asleep lol... Anyway with the great team at Muddy's these things are dealt with very quickly... :)


The comp was another great success and the crowds are starting to build, and that's good for everyone and great for the club...  Naigo was rocking as always and was well on form, I took my usual abuse from the crowds... at one point I thought the tomato's might start flying at me... They a hard crowd sometimes, especially the Essex birds... lol  But to be honest its a great example of give and take, and they whole place erupts when the moods right.. and last night was just such a night... SO thank you for all that turned up.. your all totally amazing :)


After work I went and done a bit of exploring, I managed to find a few decent places to hang out, all very quiet on Mondays but might well be amazing towards the back end of the week...  I will let you know how I get on with that exploring, and then get some pics and names on here for you all to see :)


Role on my next gig, Thursday and Thunder and at there new venue... So come and check it out... it looks awesome :)

Muddy's 4th of July!!

Last night was the 4th of July and as luck would have it I was at Muddy's, and I want to say to both Beth and William the place looked amazing...  But more importantly I want to say a big thank you to all the people that came to Muddy's and rocked for an amazing two hours with Naigo and myself...   You guys and girls ROCK!! and you made it a really great night..  I cant wait to see you all again :)

 

And next time Naigo promises to turn up clothed this time ;)  Man did that cause a bit of a ripple in the room, but thankfully my camera jammed and I could get a new film in quick enough to catch the event lol.... you have to love SL sometimes...

 

Last night was also the first night that we had a little competition for everyone, it was a case of, I play from a film and then someone has to guess the film, the winner gets L$50, so its a little bit of fun for everyone... Like most new things it needs a little tweak here and there so it runs a little smoother but I am sure we'll get it sorted :)

 

So if you fancy a great night Muddy's is the place and if you fancy your chances guessing the film then you defiantly need to be at Muddy's on Friday 2.00pm SLT   

Thunder Struck or Drunk lol

Wooohoooo it was party time and OMG I was slightly out of control, it was helped by a glass or two of wine and then thinking that it was good idea to carry on with work... Well to be honest it turned out to be a right laugh and I think that I got away with it, well I hope I did :)

Thunder of late has been a little quiet and I have no idea where Rosie my host has vanished too, she has been gone two weeks now.. And I washed my feet just in case that was the issue ;)  Anyway in the end it was a few friends that turned up and one from the good old days when I was a DJ at Bogies Jazz club.. It was nice to see Fury and his new partner Rosebud :)  Also present was Lore and Naigo.. and the odd person that popped in and out... But it was a good night for having a laugh...  And I even managed to run over into Maggie's set by one track as I was not focused on the switch over...  Bad Jester lol
